Free Italian Movie Screenings in Minsk

From October 11 to October 15, the Embassy of Italy in Belarus organizes free movie screenings dedicated to the Week of Italian Language. Four contemporary Italian films will be shown at the Pobeda cinema in Minsk.

The movies are:

  • Sei mai stata sulla luna? (Ever Been to the Moon?) – a story about a modern Italian woman, Guia, who lives in Milan and works as editor–in–chief at a women’s glossy magazine. After her father dies, she inherits her childhood home in the Apuglia region of Italy. She goes there to sell it and meets Renzo, a farmer. The clash of Southern and Northern cultures of Italy is the major theme of the movie.
  • Il giovane favoloso (Leopardi) – the movie is based on the life and death of Giacomo Leopardi, a great Italian composer. It touches upon the major milestones of Leopardi’s career and answers an important question of why the composer was a man ahead of his time.
  • Tutti giù (Everybody Sometimes Falls) – a movie about the journey from adolescence to adulthood, self–awareness, fears, and dreams of three Italian teenagers.
  • Italo (Italo) – a gripping story of a ten–year old boy from a small town in Sicily who loses his parents and finds an unexpected friend in a stray dog, Italo.

All films will be shown in Italian with the Russian subtitles. Tickets are free and can be collected at the box office an hour prior to each screening.
