Michelangelo Multimedia Exhibition Opens in Minsk

On February 18, the CECH Art Space in Minsk, Belarus opens a new multimedia exhibition titled Michelangelo. The World’s Creation. It brings to life the famous frescoes of the Sistine Chapel. In addition, the project presents an overview of works by other Renaissance artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Giotto, Botticelli and Titian. The exhibition also gives an opportunity go on a virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel with the help of the Oculus Rift technology.

Minsk is the third city to welcome the exhibition after the initial presentation in Moscow, Russia. Its format unites multimedia technologies with cinema and is easily perceived by audiences of all ages. The technologies used for the creation of the exhibition include multichannel animated graphics, dozens of modern high definition projectors, giant screens, and surround sound.

Michelangelo. The World’s Creation is an emotional and beautiful show, an educational platform that tells about the Renaissance, as well as provides information about Michelangelo’s life and work.

The multimedia hall has a text guide with the key events of the Renaissance and the list of works exhibited at the art space. The anteroom offers its visitors new edutainment technologies, including an interactive wall where it is possible to manually zoom any piece of the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling and read what it depicts, as well as a virtual tour inside the Chapel via Oculus Rift.

The guests of the exhibition are offered a unique insight into the works of Michelangelo in architecture, sculpture, and painting.

Michelangelo. The World’s Creation is open until April 17. Ticket prices range between 90,000 rubles (~ $4.5) to 120,000 rubles (~6$).
